Isabellenhütte Heusler opens first plant in China

Isabellenhütte Heusler has opened its first plant in China, aiming to drive customer proximity, innovation, and sustainability.

The new Jintan (Changzhou) facility marks a major milestone in Isabellenhütte’s global growth strategy, reinforcing its position in the electronics and industrial market.

Isabellenhütte hosted a grand opening ceremony attended by key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, service providers, local authorities, and political representatives. Dr. Gero Heusler, member of the advisory board, and the management team – represented by Thilo Gleisberg (CTO) and Dr. Felix Heusler (CFO) – also attended the event and emphasised the strategic importance of the new location for the company’s international orientation.

With an investment of approximately €18 million and more than 7,000m² of state-of-the-art production space on three levels, the family-owned company is consistently expanding its presence in the world’s most important industrial and electronics market. The facility targets LEED Silver certification and will operate entirely on renewable electricity.

“The Jintan opening is more than the start of production – it’s a catalyst for regional innovation. The plant brings us closer to our customers in the fields of electromobility, industry, and energy. Local proximity combined with global expertise is the key to tailor-made solutions and stable supply chains,” says T. Gleisberg.

Isabellenhütte has been known for precision and quality since 1482 – and is known today as a global technology leader for precision and power resistors, current measurement systems, and high-quality alloys. The company’s components ensure performance and safety in millions of vehicles worldwide – from classic drives to e-mobility.

From the outset, the plant has focused on efficient, resource-saving processes and building local expertise. Over 150 local jobs were created during the construction phase. Once in regular operation, over 100 skilled jobs will be created; the first 25 employees have already started work. There are also plans to collaborate with universities and research institutions in the region.

“As an eighth-generation family business, we plan for decades, not quarters. We want to create structures that future generations can build on – in Germany, in China, and worldwide. At the same time, we are delighted to welcome our new colleagues in Jintan and to shape the future together,” says Dr. Felix Heusler, CFO.
