Panasonic Industry to expand production capacity for circuit board materials

Panasonic Industry recently announced plans for a major expansion of its global production capacity for multi-layer circuit board materials

Panasonic Industry recently announced plans for a major expansion of its global production capacity for MEGTRON multi-layer circuit board materials. It plans to double its production over the next five years to meet growing demand in the AI servier and ICT infrastructure markets.

To support the rapid deployment of AI technology, Panasonic Industry will invest approximately 17 billion yen to construct a new manufacturing facility at its Ayutthaya Plant in Thailand. The new plant will be located on grounds of the existing Panasonic Manufacturing Ayutthaya property. The new facility is scheduled to commence operations in November 2027, with mass production scheduled by the end of fiscal year 2028.

The rise of generative AI has accelerated the need for high-speed, high-capacity communication hardware. MEGTRON materials, an industry benchmark family of circuit board laminates known for their low transmission loss, are crucial for stable and efficient signal transmission in servers, switches, and routers.

Panasonic Industry is committed to innovation in electronic materials and will continue investing in its MEGTRON product line. These advanced multi-layer circuit board materials support AI development and help address social challenges.
