Taiwan strengthens role in industrial AI and Edge computing

Taiwan reaffirmed its role as one of the world’s key suppliers of embedded and AI technologies at embedded world 2026 in Nuremberg. More than 140 Taiwanese companies presented solutions for industrial applications, making Taiwan one of the largest international contingents at the world’s leading trade fair for embedded technologies.

At the Taiwan Excellence Pavilion, 22 Taiwan Excellence award-winning brands showcased a total of 41 selected products across the categories of Smart Solutions, Edge Computing, and Industrial Memory & Storage. The pavilion was organised by the International Trade Administration (TITA) and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).

A highlight of the exhibition was the Taiwan Excellence Product Launch on the opening day under the theme “Beyond the Cloud: AI at the Edge.” Six companies, ADLINK, Advantech, ASUS, DFI, IBASE, and NEXCOM, presented real-world use cases demonstrating how artificial intelligence is increasingly being integrated directly into industrial embedded systems, including robotics, predictive maintenance, and automated quality control in manufacturing environments.

One of the presenting companies was NEXCOM Group, which focused on the growing role of Edge AI in industrial environments. Founder and CEO Clement Lin pointed to the rapid convergence of AI computing and AIoT technologies in real-world applications.

“The combination of AI computing and AIoT solutions is accelerating the adoption of Edge AI and Physical AI across real-world environments,” said Lin. “At embedded world we see how Taiwanese companies are helping bring these technologies into industrial applications worldwide, from robotics to fully automated production lines.”

embedded world 2026 attracted approximately 36,000 trade visitors from more than 90 countries. Benedikt Weyerer, Executive Director embedded world, emphasised Taiwan’s longstanding importance to the event. “Taiwan has been a reliable pillar of this trade fair for many years. The breadth of Taiwanese offerings, from semiconductor components to complete edge systems, reflects exactly what our visitors are looking for: solutions that can be integrated directly into industrial processes.”

Taiwan’s strong presence was also visible across the exhibition grounds. Two large banners installed at the main entrances displayed the logos of more than 140 Taiwanese exhibitors, highlighting the country’s significant contribution to the embedded technology ecosystem.

Economic ties between Taiwan and Germany continue to strengthen. Bilateral trade exceeded $20 billion for the fifth consecutive year in 2025, reaching a new record of $21.7 billion.
