The 2024 Waldom ESG Awards

The 2024 Waldom ESG Awards

In today’s business landscape, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives have become paramount.

ESG-focused institutional investments are anticipated to reach $33.9 trillion by 2026, yet 30% of investors struggle to find suitable ESG investment opportunities despite the growing demand. Reflecting this trend, 90% of S&P 500 companies now publish ESG reports.

These figures underscore the critical importance of robust ESG programmes for company growth. At Waldom, we prioritise sustainability and responsible business practices, and we’re dedicated to assisting sustainability teams within the Interconnect, Passive, and Electromechanical (IP&E) industry through our ESG Awards programme.

Across various sectors, several prestigious ESG Awards programmes exist. The World Sustainability Awards, for instance, recognise achievements in carbon reduction, sustainable supply chain management, and sustainable technology. The Business & Finance ESG Awards highlight effective ESG strategies in both large enterprises and SMEs, with a special category for ESG Innovation celebrating impactful solutions.

Our Waldom ESG Awards stand out by specifically focusing on the IP&E Distribution industry. Unlike broader programmes, our awards address the unique challenges and opportunities within this sector, ensuring that sustainability efforts are acknowledged in the most relevant ways.

Introducing the Waldom ESG Awards

Launched in 2023 and held annually, our awards recognise exceptional contributions to sustainability and responsible business practices. Unique to the IP&E Distribution industry, these awards celebrate the significant efforts of our supplier and distributor partners in reducing waste, promoting responsible sourcing, and advancing a circular economy. Our trophies, crafted from 100% sustainable materials, symbolise our commitment to eco-friendly practices.

Award categories and criteria

The Waldom ESG Awards feature several categories, each recognising specific achievements in sustainability:

Supplier ESG Awards:

  • Based on criteria such as Green Stock weight returned, the percentage of distributors participating in the Green Stock program, the value of returned Green Stock, and the ratio of saleable stock to total returned stock.

Distributor ESG Awards:

  • Evaluated on Green Stock weight purchased, distributor excess weight sent to Waldom, percentage of authorised lines integrated with Waldom, scrap allowance participation, and returned stock discrepancies.

Awards are classified into the following levels:

Diamond Level:

  • Awarded to one global manufacturer and one global distributor.

Gold, Silver, and Bronze Levels:

  • Regional awards for manufacturers and distributors in each category.
