Advantech appoints Arcobel as channel partner

Advantech, a specialist in industrial Edge computing, has announced a new strategic partnership that will accelerate the delivery of scalable, customer-specific solutions for the transportation sector across Germany and Benelux.

The appointment of Arcobel as a trusted channel partner will further strengthen Advantech’s position in the European market. In particular, it will open up new opportunities in the smart moblility sector, where Arcobel has more than five decades of experience in integrating both standard and customised solutions for applications ranging from fleet management to the provision of passenger multimedia systems on trains and buses.

The creation of the partnership is particularly timely given the growing requirement for systems and vehicles which are compliant with ITxPT, an open standard for public transportation now established as the norm among public transport authorities and operators. Technologies offered jointly by Advantech and Arcobel will be fully compliant with ITxPT.

Bart Meesterburrie, Senior Channel Manager at Advantech, explained: “Our goal is to deliver cutting-edge technologies to meet the demands of the modern transport sector. The appointment of Arcobel as a Channel Partner helps us achieve just that.

“Arcobel is an ideal partner as the company will not only supply, but also test and integrate Advantech’s products to ensure a seamless fit with customers’ technical specifications. Joining forces allows us to optimally serve both existing and new customers with proven, high-quality technologies.”

Douwe Schoenmakers, Managing Director of Arcobel, added: “This is a major development for us as we partner with a company recognised as a global leader in IoT intelligent systems and embedded platforms.

“Advantech’s prowess in this area marries ideally with our own extensive expertise in industrial computing, opening up a wealth of opportunities for transport operators and providers across Germany and Benelux seeking to harness the power of technology for operational excellence and optimised customer experience.”
