Nisshinbo Micro Devices, Rutronik expand USA franchise

Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente and Nisshinbo, based in Tokyo, Japan, have extended the franchise to the USA.

Nisshinbo Micro Devices offers electronic components and microwave products based on the strength of analog technology. These products enable electronics engineers to design advanced applications for consumer, industrial, and automotive markets. The company owns and operates three wafer fabs in Japan and two assembly and test facilities worldwide. Known for exceptional quality and reliability, Nisshinbo is ISO9001, ISO14001, IATF16949 certified and complies with automotive standards VDA 6.3 and AEC-Q100. In addition to the front-end and back-end manufacturing facilities, Nisshinbo has design engineering and development in Japan.

The recently expanded partnership between Nisshinbo and Rutronik joins forces of two industry leaders. Rutronik customers will benefit from an enriched selection of globally available analog solutions within Rutronik’s semiconductor portfolio.

The Rutronik franchise with New Japan Radio (NJR) started for the European market in 2010. In January 2022, NJR and Ricoh Electronic Devices (REDC) were integrated and formed Nisshinbo, the franchise is now being extended to North America.

High-quality analog and sensor technologies for industry, automotive, and consumer electronics

Nisshinbo’s product portfolio remains consistent across all regions and covers the automotive, industrial, and consumer sectors. The partnership between Rutronik and Nisshinbo is strong and also includes joint product development achievements. The Rutronik System Solutions Adapter Board RAB3 – Radar, launched in May 2024, for example features the Nisshinbo 60GHz Smart Sensor Micro-Module. This advanced radar sensor technology provides non-contact and highly accurate measurement solutions for distance measurement and people counting. The integration of the Nisshinbo micro-module enables precise distance, angle, and state detection using 60GHz millimetre-wave radar technology. This capability is particularly advantageous in environments requiring high hygiene standards, as the radar sensors can be installed behind surfaces, ensuring privacy while maintaining functionality. This is beneficial for realising distance measurement or people counting applications with the distance, angle, and state detection sensor using the 60GHz band millimetre wave.
