Orbweaver, Budde Marketing to unify supply chain data

Orbweaver, LLC has agreed to acquire Budde Marketing Systems, Inc., combining two specialists in electronics industry data to form what the companies describe as a comprehensive intelligence and orchestration platform built specifically for electronic component manufacturers and distributors.

Orbweaver, founded in 2012, operates an enterprise-grade platform that connects trading partners, synchronises product data, and automates quoting and order workflows across the electronics supply chain. Budde Marketing, which has been processing point-of-sale data since 1996, is widely regarded as the industry standard for channel performance analytics in the electronics, electrical, and industrial markets.

The deal brings together Orbweaver’s automation and integration capabilities with Budde Marketing’s deep expertise in POS reporting, creating a combined offering that spans the full data lifecycle – from raw channel data acquisition and normalisation through to supply chain orchestration, RFQ processing, and analytics.

“This acquisition represents a natural extension of our mission to simplify and modernise how the electronic industry ecosystem connects, transacts, and collaborates together,” said T. Christopher Ciesielka, CEO and Co-Founder of Orbweaver. “Combining our businesses marks a defining moment in the electronics industry, where this business combination is stepping up in a meaningful way to resolve the challenges experienced by distributors and suppliers, as well as provide valuable business insights to make better decisions.”

Michael Budde, Jr., President of Budde Marketing, will join Orbweaver along with his team, with plans to incorporate artificial intelligence and accelerate the development of new capabilities – including real-time reporting, which Budde described as critical for the sector.

“Budde Marketing has always believed that clean, high-quality data is the foundation for meaningful business insights,” said Budde. “By marrying our existing services, experience and knowledge with the automation and real-time capabilities of the Orbweaver DataHub platform, we will be able to build the features and benefits our customers have been requesting and including capabilities I view as critical to the electronics industry, such as real time reporting.”

The acquisition was backed by Sundance Growth, a growth equity firm founded by Christian Stewart, a former Accel-KKR investor, which raised a $125 million debut fund in 2025. Stewart cited the opportunity to accelerate API integration and AI adoption in electronics as a key rationale for the firm’s involvement.

“Partnering with Orbweaver for some time now, the Sundance team has observed a huge opportunity to accelerate adoption of innovative technology in the electronics industry, particularly in the area of API integration and use of artificial intelligence, and we are pleased to participate in the process of bringing these two forward thinking companies together,” said Christian Stewart, Founder and Managing Partner for Sundance Growth. “It is exciting to reflect upon what these companies will be able to accomplish in partnership.”

Both companies say existing customers can expect continuity of service alongside new capabilities in data visibility and automation.
