Rebeca Obregon appointed as President of Farnell

Avnet has named Rebeca Obregon as the new president of Farnell, an Avnet company, starting from 1st July 2024.

Farnell operates as a high-service distributor of electronic components, having a wide product range and a global supply chain network.

“Since joining Avnet’s leadership team last year, Rebeca has shown her deep commitment to delivering results for our suppliers, customers, partners, and employees,” said Phil Gallagher, CEO, Avnet. “Farnell remains a critical part of Avnet’s overall success and value proposition, and I’m confident that Rebeca is the right leader to steer the organisation through its next chapter.”

Previously, Obregon served as the Senior Vice President of Strategic Business Engagements and Supplier Management at Avnet. In this role, she oversaw the United, Velocity, and Integrated business units, managed IP&E (interconnect, passive, and electromechanical) supplier relationships and strategies, and was involved in mergers and acquisitions.

“Farnell has a rich history as an influential leader in components distribution,” said Obregon. “I look forward to helping our teams at Farnell, Avnet and beyond support our customers at every stage of the product life cycle.”

With over three decades of experience in the semiconductor industry, Obregon has a proven track record of founding and scaling teams and businesses to become profitable leaders on a global scale. Prior to her tenure at Avnet, which began in 2023, she held the position of Corporate Vice President at Amkor Technology. She earned her B.S. in electrical engineering from Arizona State University and an M.S. in electrical engineering from the National Technological University.
