Solsta announces agreement with Smiths Interconnect

Solsta announces a new distribution partnership with Smiths Interconnect, a provider of electronic components, subsystems, microwave, optical and radio frequency products, and a business of Smiths Group plc.

This collaboration brings together Solsta’s distribution network and industry expertise with Smiths Interconnect’s embedded transceivers and transceiver modules for advanced interconnect-based solutions. These products are targeting high-reliability interconnects where high data rate communication links, low size, weight, and power (SWaP) are required, as well as ruggedness and radiation resistance applications for defence, space, commercial aerospace, and industrial applications.

Tullio Panarello, Vice President and General Manager of the Fibre Optics and RF Components Business Unit at Smiths Interconnect, said: “We would like to welcome Solsta as a valued distributor partner; they will play an important role in supporting significant opportunities to grow and promote our embedded transceivers and transceiver modules.”

Solsta supports customers in industrial, medical, military, scientific, and space sectors and helps companies solve design challenges and create market leading products.

Jon Baxter, Executive Director – Sales & Operations EMEA at Solsta, said: “We are excited to begin this new partnership with Smiths Interconnect and are looking forward to introducing our customers to their high reliability embedded transceivers and transceiver modules for advanced interconnect-based solutions. The range represents an excellent addition to our communications portfolio.”
