Watts sets up Trailing Edge to grow Flip in EMEA

Distribution industry veteran Nigel Watts has founded Trailing Edge Technologies to act as a Pan-EMEA Independent Sales Marketing and Operations (ISMO) business for Flip Electronics.

“Trailing Edge is delighted to have been awarded a Pan-EMEA contract to represent Flip Electronics, an established and highly respected authorised added value distribution channel. It has partnered with some of the most renowned and respected semiconductor companies in existence to continue safe, secure, supply to customers post obsolescence and discontinuance of components from their product ranges,” commented Watts.

“This represents an exciting challenge which I am delighted to undertake, added Watts. “I have spent over forty years in the semiconductor business and been fortunate enough to meet some amazing people and get involved with fantastic companies that have produced ground breaking, life changing technologies. Trail Tech and FLIP provide my team and I with the opportunity of assisting customers with quite different issues ranging from product obsolescence through to production lifetime support and remedial design.”

Watts continued, “We are building a team capable of providing sensible advice, support and solutions based on over one hundred years of industry experience and an excellent knowledge of technology trends and product status.”

Experienced industry senior personnel, David Lenton and Filippo Mursia have already joined the organisation as Regional Sales Managers. Lenton will cover the UK and Nordic, Mursia takes on Iberia and Turkey.

Kirsten Goff and Holly Archer have taken up sales support roles based in the UK.. Paula Watts will oversee HR and finance.

“We are committed to expanding the organisation across EMEA as and when we find the right candidates who can add value to our business model,” explained Watts. “Over time, I am confident that Trailing Edge Technologies and the partners it serves will become one of the default trusted advisors to the electronic component lifetime support and aftermarket sectors.”

Trailing Edge’s appointment heralds a new phase of growth for Flip Electronics in the EMEA region. The company is an authorised distributor of obsolescent and end-of-life components for many leading semiconductor companies including Analog Devices, Infineon, Renesas, Broadcom and NXP.

“Our job is to expand the Flip customer base in EMEA through a variety of sales and marketing activities all designed to raise the profile of the Flip Electronics brand,” concluded Watts.
