CELUS, the Munich-based developer of an AI-powered electronics design platform, has announced a collaboration with Mouser Electronics to integrate supply chain information into component selection. Engineers can assess pricing and availability against budgets and production needs, then transfer selected BOM items to a Mouser shopping cart for purchase.
Technical suitability and sourcing viability are equally critical to component selection. A component must meet the design’s electrical requirements and be available in the quantities and at the cost the project requires. The Mouser integration brings pricing and stock information into the CELUS BOM view, helping engineers evaluate these constraints together before committing to any solution.
Mouser’s supply chain data where components are chosen
With the CELUS Design Assistant, engineers define their board or system requirements and refine specifications and constraints with AI guidance grounded in electronics expertise. CELUS proposes a hardware architecture and matches its functions with suitable CUBO modules, reusable component applications with associated schematics and parts lists for the engineer to evaluate. The resulting project BOM now shows Mouser data for each part, including price breaks, stock, order quantity, line total, and packaging.
The Mouser integration helps engineers build a BOM that meets their technical requirements, target budget, and sourcing needs. By evaluating pricing and availability at the intended production volume, engineers can identify cost overruns and stock shortages early, compare sourcing options, and make informed trade-offs before going into detailed design and PCB layout.
“Engineers are under increasing pressure to balance performance, cost, and availability when selecting components,” said Russell Rasor, Vice President of Global Supplier Marketing at Mouser. “Our partnership with CELUS will give engineers immediate access to pertinent supply chain insights to help them make better decisions faster. It’s also a unique opportunity for Mouser to engage with engineers earlier in the design process and help them turn innovative ideas into successful products.”
From BOM to Mouser cart
Once engineers are ready to purchase, ‘Order with Mouser’ transfers the BOM lines assigned to Mouser into a shopping cart at the calculated order quantities. Engineers review the cart and complete checkout on mouser.com, reducing manual BOM entry and connecting component selection directly with procurement. CELUS does not place orders or process payments.
The project’s schematics and BOM can also be exported to supported EDA environments, including Altium Designer, KiCad, Siemens Xpedition, and Autodesk Fusion, for detailed design review and PCB layout. Together, these capabilities connect early design decisions with established engineering and purchasing workflows, helping teams carry their component selections through to implementation.
The Mouser integration is available now on the CELUS Design Platform.
“Component selection commits a project to supply chain constraints that affect its cost and production plans. By bringing Mouser’s pricing and availability into CELUS, we help engineers understand those implications early and make informed trade-offs while they still have the flexibility to adapt the design,” said Tobias Pohl, CEO and Co-Founder of CELUS.
