Farnell has brought together a select group of top-tier suppliers to launch a campaign showcasing the numerous advantages of Single Pair Ethernet (SPE) solutions.
This campaign, supported by Amphenol, ADI, Harting, Microchip, Molex, Phoenix, Weidmuller, and Wurth Electronik, aims to motivate IIoT developers and industrial designers to adopt SPE products and protocols. The goal is to not only drive innovation but also enhance efficiency, productivity, and reliability in their work.
Ben Morgan, Product Segment Leader for SPE Connectors at Farnell said: “We firmly believe that the future of industrial network connectivity lies with Single Pair Ethernet. IoT design engineers fully understand the current struggle of balancing space limitations with increasing data demands, however SPE is a compact, efficient technology that delivers full Ethernet performance with a single, twisted-pair cable.”
One of the key benefits of SPE is its ability to significantly reduce the need for complex and bulky cable bundles, which often take up valuable installation space. By utilising SPE products, network installations can be streamlined, lowering costs and allowing developers to focus on maximising the capabilities of connected devices.
SPE simplifies the IIoT and industrial automation design process by offering a single, high-speed connection, ideal for Edge devices, particularly those situated in tight or constrained environments. These solutions are designed to be sleek, efficient, and dependable, ensuring continuous connectivity and optimal performance.
Morgan added: “We are delighted to be joined by so many of key supplier in this initiative, which we think heralds a new dawn in what is achievable in network connectivity, which comes at a crucial moment to meet the demands of an increasingly interconnected world.”
SPE products from Amphenol, ADI, Harting, Microchip, Molex, Phoenix, Weidmuller, and Wurth Electronik will be available through Farnell in EMEA, Newark in North America, and element14 in APAC.
