SDVerse, a US joint venture, unveiled the world’s first B2B online marketplace for software products in the automotive industry in Detroit on 30th September 2024.
FEV, a global engineering services provider, supports the platform’s founding members General Motors, Magna, and Wipro as a launch partner with more than 30 of the company’s software products. These products range from individual modules to comprehensive software packages for complex applications. They cover classic application areas such as engine and vehicle control, battery management, as well as complex functions of software-defined vehicles, including cyber security and functional safety.
In the future, SDVerse will enable buyers and providers to be precisely networked. Buyers can search for suitable solutions quickly and easily using an extensive catalogue of products on offer and compare products from different providers based on defined attributes. After a successful product search, buyers and sellers negotiate the contracts bilaterally. This not only reduces procurement costs, but also shortens development cycles by simplifying the make-or-buy decision and saves additional costs that would normally be incurred.
Well positioned for future challenges
“The SDVerse marketplace facilitates software integration by offering digital solutions and related engineering services in a complete package. We are pleased to be able to offer our IP and development services as tailor-made software solutions on the SDVerse platform,” says Dr. Thomas Hülshorst, Group Vice President Intelligent Mobility and Software at FEV.
In the future, several hundred innovative software solutions will be offered on SDVerse. The platform is uses modern technologies. Artificial intelligence supports the search for the right manufacturer and the most suitable software for the respective application. A strong partner network with leading companies in the automotive and software industry further underlines the relevance of the platform.
