Trailing Edge Technologies inks partnership with Provertha Connectors

Trailing Edge Technologies, the obsolete and EOL (end of life) component specialist, has signed a sales partnership agreement with Provertha Connectors based in Germany and Hungary.

Nigel Watts CEO of Trailing Edge Technologies commented: “Trailing Edge Technologies have, thus far, focused our activities solely supporting Flip Electronics, a globally authorised distributor for an array of well-established semiconductor and other electronic components manufacturers. We have now added Provertha to our portfolio thereby extending the breadth and depth of products we can offer to customers experiencing critical supply issues caused by component obsolescence and EOL notices.”

Trailing Edge will act to either fulfil customers’ orders or act as a sales representative for Provertha.

While Flip remains the heartbeat of Trailing Edge, Watts added: “We are always looking for high quality, reliable, complementary products to add to our existing portfolio thereby further enhancing our added value to customers and suppliers alike. The obsolescence and EOL marketplace can be difficult to navigate therefore it is imperative that companies such as ours deliver high quality, reliable, traceable, and resilient supply chain solutions.”

Amongst a deep range of connectors devices, Watts highlighted M12 connectors and D-sub connectors as significant products. “If other connector manufacturers issue EOL notices, Provertha will step in to ensure customers have a source of supply.”

Target markets for Trailing Edge include transportation, medical, industrial, and aerospace and defence. “Any market where an end product has a 15 to 30 year lifespan,” says Watts.

Chris Osborn, UK Manager for Provertha stated: “Provertha are well placed to offer direct alternatives to many of the standard connector ranges. With acquisitions of companies coupled with obsolescence and EOL causing reductions on product lines, Provertha’s products are 100% manufactured in Hungary allowing us to offer shorter lead times than most. Provertha see this as a great fit to support Trailing Edge Technologies customers.”

It is widely anticipated that the market for obsolete and EOL components will grow substantially in the future for a number of reasons which include:

  1. Product rationalisation due to capacity constraints
  2. Focus on introduction of NEW technologies to meet customer demands
  3. Unacceptable ROI from older production facilities forcing manufacturers to make strategic decisions
  4. Products reaching ‘legacy’ status and customer demand falling significantly

In addition, the advancement of technology to cater for the explosive growth in AI, data centre, and other related applications has forced manufacturers to re-align their production capabilities to match the demands of these highly valuable and much sought after markets.

Trailing Edge Technologies is determined to provide valuable products and services to those customers affected by the obsolescence, EOL, and restricted supply of components vital to their own end equipment production.
