TTI Europe stocking high-performance DC-link film capacitors

TTI IP&E – Europe is now stocking the MKP1848 series of DC-link film capacitors from Vishay. The metalised polypropylene components feature low ESR and high ripple current capabilities.

These devices offer high voltage, self-healing technology, a high pulse capability, a durability of over 100,000 hours, and stable performance throughout a wide operating temperature range.

The MKP1848 series of automotive-grade DC-link film capacitors is qualified to AEC-Q200. This makes it suitable for vehicle electrification applications, but its proven reliability makes it applicable to any industrial application related to power conversion. With a wide capacitance range, from 1µF to 400µF, the MKP1848 is rated from 450Vdc to 1200Vdc at an operating temperature of 85°C. The series supports vehicle electrification applications, including onboard chargers, electric traction motors, automotive heating, and power supplies.


The MKP1848C series is designed for industrial applications, offering cost-competitiveness and higher capacitances for the same PCB area. Rated from 500Vdc to 1200Vdc at 85°C, the series offers a broad range of capacitances from 1µF to 500µF with high ripple current capabilities and low ESR and ESL. Applications include renewable energy inverters, motor drives, UPS, welding equipment, and switched-mode power supplies.

Rated from 350 to 1200Vdc, the automotive-grade MKP1818H series is AEC-Q200 qualified with rated capacitances of 1µF to 80µF and low ESR and high ripple current capabilities. Rated voltages are 500 to 1200Vdc at +85°C. Optimised for high-humidity and outdoor environments, the series has undergone temperature humidity bias (THB) testing at 85°C with 85% relative humidity for 1000 hours at rated voltage. Other applications include renewable energy inverters, UPS, battery chargers, and motor drives.
